Circles In Ruin

Dark fills the spaces between
A face lightly grazes unseen
Alone looking outward she desperately sings
"Do the lights in the sky ever dream"

Searching

I'll mend the pieces
Unearth the circuitry beneath the flowers
I'll lend my eyes
To your heart and someday you'll see
The stars again

The ground tears
And machines seek abound
Do the whirs and turns
Ever stop burning out
When the words fail
And the seasons shatter
Will you still search for a reason

Wash away the
Sinking anchor
Watch it fall endlessly
Circling 'round the mirrors
A light flares while
I beg her to catch me from
Falling under
Sinking further

barren waste of the earth?

We would wind the gears of the machines

Its beating heart pulsing through the earth

And you would tell me, "Never let it rust or decay"

For as long as it ran the snow would continue to melt and the dark would clear

And yet, as the years wasted on,

You left in silence, leaving us to a dying world

But how could I blame you?

And so I'll pick up what we began
