3. The Purpose of Creating Cosmopedia [편집]
There are several reasons why Cosmopedia was created. One is that the "A Dance of Fire and Ice" document in Namuwiki was limited to official content, underrepresenting user-created content. Another reason is my personal desire to see detailed documentation on custom levels.
Additional goals emerged after the initial planning of Cosmopedia. As shown in the history section below, many of those who contributed to the early construction of the wiki joined after seeing my post on A Dance of Fire and Ice Minor Gallery. Cosmopedia would not have been completed without their contributions. I also hope that this project may help improving the negative image on the ADOFAI Gallery, even if only slightly.
The final goal is to introduce high-quality levels to users through Cosmopedia. Given that the game heavily relies on user-created content, no one can deny that there are high-quality levels in the center of it. However, one persistent limitation is that the only way to introduce these levels has been through YouTube videos. As a result, so-called "baiting", "trolling" levels tend to attract more attention, leaving those well-made levels that deserve recognition behind. I believe that this phenomenon will continue as long as YouTube view counts determine recognition and popularity.[7]
Of course, this is not something that I can resolve alone. However, through Cosmopedia, I believed that it is be possible to encourage people to discover, share, and play those amazing levels that haven't received sufficient recognition from the audience. By providing an alternative path beyond the YouTube algorithm, I believe that Cosmopedia will not have a negative impact on the game or its community.[8]

4. History [편집]
4.1. Planning Stage [편집]
The initial motivation for DMusic, the creator of Cosmopedia, came from the fact that information written in "A Dance of Fire and Ice" article on Namuwiki was not sufficient. DMusic felt the necessity of a dedicated wiki with deeper information and resources about the game in a single, easily accessible location. In particular, the idea of allowing people to access various information and related issues through creation of individual articles for each custom level became one of the key foundations of Cosmopedia.
The early stages of the wiki's development began with DMusic gathering several interested individuals and creating a Discord server. The name and the domain were decided within this server.
However, aside from DMusic and server administrators, there were very few individuals who actively participated in the construction of Cosmopedia. As a result, the project made a little to no noticeable progress for around two months.
During this time, DMusic felt that it would be difficult to continue developing the wiki alone and concluded that the project would be very challenging without additional assistance.

4.2. Expansion [편집]
The launch of Cosmopedia was greatly supported by contributions from the A Dance of Fire and Ice Minor Gallery. After determining that it would be difficult to continue the project alone, DMusic posted a simple recruitment notice on the gallery. # Through this post, approximately 40 individuals gradually joined the wiki's development, shaping the basic structure of Cosmopedia.
4.3. Early Development [편집]
With the help of the contributors that joined, various types of pages were created, and the server was later relocated from South Korea to Vietnam.[9]
Afterwards, administrator Hyonsu personally developed the "the tree" engine to address the limitations of the previously used openNAMU engine. The wiki engine was replaced on December 28, 2024.
